SERVICES — SERVER INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE
Server Installation & Maintenance
Full lifecycle server support — from delivery and racking through OS installation, firmware management, and ongoing maintenance.
Full Server Lifecycle
We handle every phase from the moment hardware arrives on-site to the moment your team takes over a fully operational, documented server.
Delivery & Inspection
Receive hardware, verify manifest, inspect for shipping damage, log serial numbers and asset tags before any work begins.
Rack & Cable
Mount to rack unit position, install rail kits, run and label all power and data cabling per structured cabling standards.
BIOS /BMC Configuration
Set boot order, configure iDRAC/iLO/IPMI access, apply security hardening, update firmware to current stable release.
OS Installation
Bare-metal OS install (Linux or Windows Server), disk partitioning, driver installation, network config, and initial hardening.
Testing & Verification
Run burn-in diagnostics, verify redundant PSU/NIC failover, confirm remote management access, and run baseline performance checks.
Handover
Deliver signed handover checklist, as-built documentation, IPMI/BMC credentials verified, and photo set. Server is production-ready.
From bare metal to production-ready — every server we deploy is fully documented and handed over with verified remote access.

Preventive Maintenance
Scheduled Visits
Quarterly or bi-annual on-site visits for hardware health checks, firmware review, event log audit, and drive SMART analysis.
Firmware Lifecycle Tracking
We track vendor firmware advisories and notify you of security-relevant updates — no surprise CVEs on unpatched BMC firmware.
Maintenance Contracts
Fixed-fee annual contracts available covering scheduled visits, priority response for hardware failures, and parts coordination.
Why netconn for Server Work?
🏢 Bare-Metal & Virtualised
We work equally across bare-metal deployments and hypervisor platforms (Proxmox, VMware, Hyper-V) — the same rigour regardless of the stack.
🆕 Dell, HPE, Supermicro, Lenovo
Deep hands-on experience with all major server vendors and their management toolchains — no learning curve when your hardware arrives.
📋 Handover Checklist + BMC Verified
Every deployment closes with a signed checklist: IPMI/BMC credentials verified and tested, OS accessible, and all documentation delivered.
🕒 Maintenance Contracts Available
Prefer a fixed annual fee over ad-hoc calls? We offer maintenance contracts with scheduled visits, firmware tracking, and priority response SLA.
FAQ
Which server hardware vendors does netconn support?
netconn has hands-on experience with Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, Cisco UCS, Lenovo ThinkSystem, and Supermicro servers, covering full installation, firmware updates, and hardware maintenance across all major enterprise platforms.
Do you support both Linux and Windows Server environments?
Yes — netconn engineers are certified in both Linux (LPIC-1/LPIC-2, Red Hat) and Windows Server environments, including installation, OS configuration, driver setup, and integration with existing infrastructure.
Can netconn handle server work inside third-party datacenters?
Yes — netconn performs server installation and maintenance inside major Swiss colocation facilities, coordinating directly with datacenter operations staff for access and logistics.
What does a typical server installation include?
A standard engagement covers unboxing and rack mounting, rail kit installation, cable management, BIOS/UEFI configuration, firmware and driver updates, IPMI/iDRAC/iLO setup, OS installation, and a handover report with photos and configuration documentation.
