Rack & Stack Installation

SERVICES — RACK & STACK

Rack & Stack Installation

Professional hardware deployment from unboxing to operational — fast, clean, and fully documented. We handle every unit, every cable, and every label.

The Installation Process

Every Rack & Stack engagement follows a structured, repeatable process — so nothing gets missed and every deployment is consistent, documented, and ready to hand over.

Step-by-Step

  1. Unboxing & Inspection — Receive and inspect all equipment against the delivery manifest; log any damage before racking begins.
  2. Racking — Mount servers, switches, patch panels, and PDUs in the designated rack unit positions following the approved rack diagram.
  3. Cabling — Run, dress, and terminate power and data cables using structured cabling best practices — no loose bundles, no unlabelled runs.
  4. Labeling — Every port, patch cable, power feed, and device is labeled at both ends following an agreed naming convention.
  5. Testing & Verification — Power-on test, link-light check, basic connectivity verification, and comparison against rack diagram before sign-off.
  6. Handover — Client receives rack diagram, cable map, and a photo set of the completed installation.

Every rack we build is clean, labeled, and documented — ready for your team from day one.

Custom project plan with phased rollout, dedicated project manager, and milestone reporting.

Why netconn for Rack & Stack?

📷 Before & After Documentation

We photograph the rack before we touch it and after we finish — every angle, every cable run. You always know exactly what changed.

🚚 Vendor & Logistics Coordination

We work directly with your hardware vendor and shipping team — receiving, staging, and unpacking so you don’t have to coordinate on-site.

🆕 Clean & Fully Labeled Cabling

No cable spaghetti. Every run is measured, cut to length, dressed in trays, and labeled at both ends — so your next technician knows exactly what they’re touching.

📋 Handover Report Included

Every deployment closes with a signed handover report: rack diagram, cable map, serial numbers, and photo set — ready for your CMDB or audit records.

FAQ

How long does a Rack & Stack installation take?

A single rack typically takes 1-2 days. A row or suite (2-10 racks) takes 3-7 days depending on cabling complexity. For larger deployments (10+ racks), netconn provides a custom project plan with phased rollout, a dedicated project manager, and milestone reporting.

What documentation do I receive after a Rack & Stack project?

Clients receive an as-built rack diagram (PDF and Visio/draw.io), a cable map with port-to-port tracing, a labeled photo set, a delivery manifest with serial numbers and asset tags, and a handover report with a sign-off checklist.

Which cabling and rack standards does netconn follow?

netconn follows EIA-310 (rack unit sizing and mounting), TIA-942 (telecommunications infrastructure for data centers), ISO/IEC 11801 (generic cabling), vendor-specific rail kit requirements, and client-defined labeling and cable management conventions.

Does netconn coordinate with our hardware vendor and shipping logistics?

Yes — netconn works directly with the client’s hardware vendor and shipping team, handling receiving, staging, and unpacking on-site.
